Apple Cake with Cinnamon Crumble

I made this wonderful vegan cake for my Dad’s 50. birthday. He loved it. Smells like a dream….not too sweet, but extremely delicious and crispy. If you want, you can serve it with vegan cream. I just topped some date syrup. Enjoy it!

  • 205g Alsan (vegan butter)
  • 350g flour
  • 8 tbsp sugar
  • 1 P. vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch baking powder
  • 60ml water
  • 2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 750g apples
  • 2 tbsp apple apple puree
  • Alsan for the baking form

Cut 125 g Alsan into little pieces. Mix 200 g flour, 2 tbsp sugar, vanilla sugar and baking powder. Add the vegan butter and the water and knead everything until you have a smooth dough. Put the dough in a foil in the fridge for about 1 hour.

Knead 150 g flour, 6 tbsp sugar, cinnamon powder and 80g Alsan into crumbles and put the in the fridge as well. Core the apples, peel them and cut them into fine slices.

Put the dough into a greased baking or tarte form. Groove the cake base with a fork several times. Spread the apples on the cake base and coat it with the apple puree. Sprinkle the cinnamon crumbles on top and bake the apple cake in the pre-heated oven for 40 minutes at 200°C top/bottom heat.
